These are a few of my most recent handyman projects
Winter 2007/8 Project, Flamborough, Ontario. Purple Martin houses to eat all those mosquitos this summer.
It took only a week to build both the Purple Martin Houses, some lumber and paint, help to get ‘em up from my nephew Tyler Golka. Those birds will eat a lot of the pesky mosquitoes in the summer so we can enjoy the yard and camp fire. Ah, Ecology, love it. 2007/8.

What do you do with ugly outbuildings? Cover ‘em with slab lumber for a very nice rustic look. Spring 2008.
A couple of shacks out back….ummm..what can be done with them to improve the appearance so the eye sore goes away. Answer – slab lumber from the lumber mill used as siding not fire wood. A few screws & my handy dandy screw gun & I transformed these ugly little out building into rustic beauties. My nephew Tyler Golka was a great help in finishing off the job. Spring 2007.

I built a pond, a BIG pond…Flamborough, Ontario, Fall 2007.
This was a huge project to supervise, but in the end it was grand. Unbelievable how much wild life it attracted. Neibourhood kids are not the only one getting a lot from this. Unfortunately the Dept of Natural Resources has ordered it filled in again. Terrible shame, bull rushes are more important than the wildlife we have seen because of this pond.
